No, I'm not cooking but I'm overseeing it. There's a group of people who wanted to use it and somehow it became mine...

So Hacchi can delegate! Except he's doing it all wrong! You need to trust people to do their part!

-Right, right! GAH I AGREED WITH HAJIME!-

[Actually, Katze-san was very good at delegating. She doesn't think Hacchi would take lessons from him, though, what with the whole "planet-destroying alien" thing.]

Ah, I wasn't going to do anything else but the third years came and uh, insisted.

[He smiles weakly. Yeah, he's such a push over. When he gets to the oven he starts poking at it, it's not heating up like it should. It's just a masonry oven and when he examines the back, there's a brick loose.]

That's when you take a deeeeeeep breath [She demonstrates.] and say "NO!" You can't do everything for everyone, even if they ask. You'll just end up doing more and more and more and more until BOOM!

[She tosses herself on the ground and lies motionless for a bit before hopping back to her feet.]

It's alright! I don't mind!

[He smiles, but it's a little tight. With the oven fixed, they can continue on their way.]

[Hajime pokes him in the cheek and frowns at him. Now he's just faking happy. That's even worse than not having fun (which he's doing too). Everyone keeps asking him to do things, but no one has stayed to help him yet. He's been completely by himself the whole time and that's awful.]

[He gets off course again when some boys ask him to help with the potato farming exhibit and he's given a big box of potatoes to plant for people to find. "Thanks!" the guy said cheerfully.

Hachiken had forgotten about this favour. Damn.]

[Hajime takes the potatoes from Hachiken and walks right back over to the boy who gave them to him.]

Hacchi is very busy, so you're gonna have to find someone else to plant these! I bet it'd be really fun if you did it yourslf!

[He grins and shrugs. 'Nothing I can do, Hachiken owes me a favour, right Hachiken?']

Yeah, I know. I know. It's fine, I'll take care of it.

[He sighs a little.]

Well it won't take me that long.

[Hajime's not letting the potatoes go. She points at Hachiken.]

POTATOES DENIED.

[Then at the boy who gave him the potatoes.]

Hacchi won't tell you no, so I will. If it won't take him long, I'm sure it won't take you long either. Have fun with your planting!

[She holds them out again to the boy, but makes as if she's going to tip the box.]

Hajime-chan, please! It's fine!

[She looks back over her shoulder.]

It's not fine! A festival is supposed to be for everyone! If you do everything yourself and everyone else just benefits from it, no one will really be happy. Do you think he'll be happy when people tell him how great his potato thing was and he knows he made you do it?

[Of course, the guy is standing right there as she says this...]

I'll come do it later then. I can handle it. I don't have to disappoint him.

He won't be disappointed at all! I'll be disappointed.

[Again, he's standing right there.]

I...but...

[He's at a loss. His friend sighs and rolls his eyes, dismissing both of them. He'll collect later.]

[Hajime throws a potato at the guy's head.]

You forgot your potatoes!

[He laughs and ducks.

Hachiken tugs on her sleeve gently.]

Come on. I have other things to do...

Once he takes back his potatoes! Think of it as a break!

[The guy grabs the potato box and waves at them.]

I've got a lot of things to do, maybe someone else could give you a tour?

Nope! We're festival buddies now!

[She attaches to his arm again now that she's gotten rid of the potatoes.]

Okay...

[Hachiken really can't say no to anyone. He takes her through his list, which is a lot of people getting him to do things, but then his watch beeps.]

Oh! It's time for cow duty.

Cow duty? What's cow duty?

[Well, obviously it has something to do with cows. Maybe it'll be enough of a distraction to snap him out of the whole festival thing.]

Our class has groups and it's a rotation we go on to look after the animals and I'm on the cow rotation. Milking, cleaning up after them, things like that. We usually do that around five in the morning, but we do it in between school and extra curricular teams too.

-If he's scooping cow poop, I'm outta here.-

[Since Hacchi's around, she can't quite tease Katze about not being able to leave, so she just giggles a little. He'll get it.]

Does Hacchi run on batteries?

[Because when does he ever sleep with so much to do? Even she gets sleep and she has a planet to protect and collage meet-ups to organize and college to think about.]

No, no batteries.

[He smiles a bit and leads the way towards the cows. He sleeps but not very long and lately he's been getting up at 3:30 instead of four.]
